The YWCA of Binghamton & Broome County's All Paws for a Cause Dog Walk for Breast Cancer Prevention is a family-friendly community event that brings together animal lovers and supporters to raise funds for the YWCA's ENCOREplus Program.

ENCOREplus provides education, outreach, navigation, transportation assistance, and support services to help local women access lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings. Through this program, women facing barriers such as cost, transportation, lack of insurance, or limited access to healthcare receive the assistance they need to obtain preventive care and follow-up services.

Participants are invited to walk with their dogs while enjoying vendor booths, contests, demonstrations, raffle baskets, activities for pets and their owners, and much more. The event raises awareness about the importance of early detection while helping ensure that local women have access to critical cancer screening services.

In Fall 2026, YWCA Binghamton breaks ground on the Coppens Intergenerational Campus — a transformative 63,000 square foot development bringing 68 units of affordable housing to the Southern Tier. More than half is reserved for survivors of domestic violence and their families.

This space will be designed to bring together people of all ages, from young children to older adults, through shared programs and community connection.

The campus iwill be named after Carole Coppens, who worked on the project for many years. Carole retired in June of 2026 as Executive Director of the YWCA of Binghamton after 26 years.

Naming the building after her is our way of honoring everything she's done for the community and the people she's helped along the way.
